Access- Community- Theatre
Wigan Autistic Theatre Company is pleased to bring to Wigan Project ACT, after being awarded £19.434, funded by the National Lottery Fund Awards. Making accessible theatre to all will be done in three phases spanning over the next 18 months
Project 1
November 2024-April 2025
Part of The Wigan Autistic Theatre Company, ethos, is theatre should be for all. So far we have delivered relaxed performances and last year we delivered our first BSL-interpreted performance, Educating Rita. Now we are going one further, by riding on our success and purchasing a portable loop system that can make theatre even more accessible to others in Wigan. Once we have got this off the ground we plan to let other groups hire the loop system when we are not using it.
Also, part of Project 1, is to employ a freelancer assistant director/ support work to help and support with the company’s upcoming production
The Vicar of Dibley is also part of Project 1 and will cover marketing, scenery, room hire, venue hire and some costs for costume material.
